Women aged 20-60 years have been tested for bone mineral density and collagen content in skin biopsies from lower abdomen. This study enabled to show relationship between age and collagen loss.

1) Two placebo-controlled clinical trials were run to assess the effect of a daily oral supplementation with collagen peptides used by Collagen Vital Power (CVP) on skin hydration by corneometry, on collagen density by high-resolution ultrasound and on collagen fragmentation by reflectance confocal microscopy. Human skin explants were used to study extracellular matrix components in the presence of collagen peptides ex vivo.
The results of this study demonstrated that after 12 weeks of intake, there was a 31% reduction, compared to the start of the study. This restructuring of the skin is key to our understanding of how Collagen Vital Power can boost the collagen network, providing clear anti-aging benefits.
2) A double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of collagen peptides used by Collagen Vital Power among women aged 40-59 has demonstrated that this supplementation with collagen peptides has increased skin hydration by 28% after eight weeks; and 91% of this research group reported a higher skin hydration level during the same period.
1)Double-blind placebo-controlled clinical study revealed that an 8 g daily intake of collagen peptides used by Collagen Vital Power significantly improved joint comfort and functionality. During the 6-month study, women with diagnosed knee osteoarthritis were randomly assigned either 8 g of this collagen or a placebo. Their knee joint function was assessed with standardized score systems (WOMAC for general joint discomfort and function and Lysholm for more specific functions when walking, jumping and stair climbing).
A new 6-month randomized, double-blind, placebo- controlled study aimed to assess the efficacy of collagen peptides used in Collagen Vital Power (CVP) on knee joint pain and function with selected groups of women between 40 and 70 who presented themselves with knee joint pain or knee joint discomfort. Osteoarthritis was diagnosed by x-ray and quantified using the Kellgren-Lawrence grading system. Only subjects with measured and real osteoarthritis, who had not used nutraceuticals or analgesics within the last 6 months were included. Patients were randomly assigned to receive 8g of CVP or 8g of Placebo per day for a duration of 6 months. Joint pain and function were assessed before (baseline), 3 months after and 6 months after the start of the treatment. 2) Benito-Ruiz and colleagues have proven the effects of collagen peptides used in Collagen Vital Power on the gene expression of 2 major constituents of the extracellular matrix of the cartilage: aggrecan and type II collagen. CVP collagen specifically enhanced expression of aggrecan and type II collagen mRNA, and thus the chondrocyte gene expression of the cartilage extra cellular matrix components. In this double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study, the efficacy of bioactive collagen peptides (BCP) on the cellulite treatment of normal and overweight women has been studied. Women aged 24-50 years with moderate cellulite were randomized to orally receive BCP daily or a placebo over 6 months. The results of the study demonstrated that a regular ingestion of BCP over a period of 6 months led to a clear improvement of the skin appearance in women suffering from moderate cellulite. Based on the current data, it can be concluded that a long-term therapy with orally administered BCP leads to an improvement of cellulite and has a positive impact on skin health.
